Glengall Road, Peckham, Southwark, 1972

These semi-detached houses of the 1840s were among the most impressive, but far from the exception, of those built on or near the Old Kent Road in the mid 19th century.

At that time North Peckham was being developed as a desirable and respectable suburb, though the subsequent arrival of effective public transport and increasing population changed the area's character. Similar houses are found on Newent Close and Peckham Grove.
