Addington Square, Camberwell, 1969
Grander Georgian and Regency developments were alongside or near main roads. The more ambitious ones were set around squares, but only few of these survive intact.
This square was built at the same time as the basin of the Surrey Canal which lies to its north, and named after Henry Addington, Prime Minister from 1801 to 1804.
