Looking northward from Bourne Road towards the junction with Gravel Hill.

The photograph was taken from near the entrance to Reffells Brewery. In 1874 a brewery was established in Bourne Road. Brewing ceased here, however, in 1956 and the premises have since devolved into a variety of light industrial and commercial uses.

The brewery buildings and roof-lines remain very much unchanged, however, providing interest to the street scene.
