Lausanne Road, New Cross, Lewisham, c. 1910

lausanne-road-01547-350

This view shows the west side of Lausanne Road and so was - and is - in the Nunhead area of Camberwell and Southwark. The borough boundary follows the middle of the road.

However, the residents may have then and may still consider themselves to be in New Cross or Hatcham or even Peckham.

The houses date from the early 1870s, though the road had its origin as a thoroughfare from Nunhead and Telegraph Hill to the Old Kent Road.
