Green Man Hotel, Blackheath Hill, Blackheath, c. 1850
The Green Man Hotel, which was founded before 1629, was an important staging post in the Dover Road - the business of which is evident from the engraving. It stood at the very top of Blackheath Hill.
The building was also used as a meeting place for many official and unofficial bodies. It was rebuilt in the 1860s and was demolished in the 1870s.
