The Trafalgar tavern was built in 1837 on the site of an earlier tavern.

This attractive Regency style building was designed by Joseph Kay, architect of the new town centre that was created in Greenwich by Greenwich Hospital Estates in the 1830s.

Charles Dickens knew The Trafalgar well and it is still a flourishing riverside tavern today.
