Crayford 1897
This map shows Crayford as a small industrial town bridging the River Cray.
There are factories printing silk and calico beside the Dover Road to the west and also alongside the munitions works in the east.
The tannery, water works, gasometer and railway station bear witness to its economic advance.
The ancient Church of St Paulinus stands at the top of the hill from where the High Street runs down to cross the river.
