This view is looking north towards St Michael's Church and the Plumstead boundary, with shops on the left-hand side of the road known as 'The Parade'.

Note the tramlines in the road. Public services began on 3rd October 1903 and the route ran from the 'Plume of Feathers' Plumstead, through Welling and Bexleyheath to the Erith boundary in Northumberland Heath.
