Welling Railway Station, 1923

The Southern Railway Company's Station at Welling was the subject of several innovations during the 1920s and 1930s.

The line was converted to electric power with new state of the art trains and rolling stock replacing the old steam engines and heavy carriages.

The station itself expanded to cope with the ever growing number of passengers commuting to London.

The second photograph shows detail from the first.
