Long Lane, Bexleyheath, 1930
A last view of Long Lane before the onslought of development in the 1930s.
Until then the area was largely agricultural, William Sheldon being the principal farmer running market gardens, orchards and cereals.
Another feature of the Bexleyheath plateau was hospitals: the Erith Sanitorium and the Bexley Isolation Hospital.
Long Lane was an ancient route between Bexleyheath and Bostall.
