Avenue Road, Bexleyheath, 1914
Avenue Road, Bexleyheath looking north towards Pickford Lane and Bexleyheath Railway Station.
Behind the trees on the right can be seen the large detached houses which were built in the late 1800s. Greenhouses appear behind the opposite row of trees on the left-hand side.
Market gardening was the local industry which benefited greatly with the coming of the railway line to Bexleyheath in 1895.
The road took its name from the avenue of trees.
