48 - 60 Lucas Street, Deptford New Town, Lewisham, 1970
These houses date from the 1880s, when the Lucas family, freeholders of the estate, rebuilt some of the earliest houses in the area.
Although Deptford New Town was gradually built over the best part of a century, a uniformity of size and style is apparent throughout the whole of the area, a situation enhanced by its designation as a conservation area.
