Though Deptford New Town was gradually built over the best part of a century, the houses in the area show a remarkable consistency of style.

These date from the 1880s and are built on the site of one of the earliest developments in the area on what was called Victory Street (nearby Nile and Nelson Streets suggest where and which victory). They were demolished to make way for sheltered housing on the Peabody Estate.
