Brixton Oval, Brixton, 1892
Sheep grazing at Brixton Oval, 1892.
In the background can be seen a terrace with houses and a grammar school, shortly to be demolished to make way for the Tate Library (1893).
The land, part of Rush Common was later converted to Tate Library Gardens.
The building to the right of the brewery, on the corner of Coldharbour Lane, is the site of the Electric Cinema, now the Ritzy.
