Raleigh House was a large Georgian mansion situated well back from the main road.

In 1887 Lambeth Vestry planned to buy the site for development as a public park. However, local opinion favoured the larger Brockwell Hall site.

Raleigh Gardens commemorates the house.

This view shows the property prior to demolition and commencement of the housing development on Fairmont and Arodene Roads.
