Rochester Way, Kidbrooke, 1937

rochester-way-01927-350

A view south-east along the Rochester Way in August 1937 with the fields of Kidbrooke Lower farm on the right.

Rochester Way was built as the Shooters Hill by-pass during the 1920s and 1930s to relieve congestion, and was a major factor in the rapid development of Kidbrooke.

Rochester Way has itself now been bypassed by the dual carriageway which was built in 1988 across Kidbrooke Green.
