Rochester Way, Kidbrooke, 1937

rochester-way-01928-350

Looking east across Kidbrooke Lane to the newly-built houses on the east side of Rochester Way.

Kidbrooke Lane was the old way from Blackheath to Eltham - a narrow country lane lined with fields and hedgerows. Two fragments survive today: Brook Lane from the junction with Kidbrooke Park Road, and Kidbrooke Lane, which leads from the Westhorne Avenue to Well Hall Road.

The rest of Kidbrooke Lane lies underneath Rochester Way.
