35 Elmers End Road, Penge, c. 1950
Built around 1862 as part of Brook Villas, four similar houses, No 35 is a good example of mid-Victorian development on the Beckenham Penge borders.
This was about as far as the housing came at this period. There was then a pause in development until the new surge in the early 20th century caused the building up of the Clock House and Elmers End areas over the border in Beckenham.
The far left wing is probably a later extension. The house survives today on the corner of Ash Grove.
