Police Station, Farnborough, Bromley, 1983
Farnborough Police Station opened in 1839, only ten years after the foundation of the Metropolitan Police. It is still in use and so must be among the longest continually used police buildings in London.
When it opened Farnborough was only a small rural village, but the main road to Hastings ran through the village and part of the station's duties would have been to protect travellers on the road.
