One of the main features of the 1854 palace was a series of courts illustrating art and design at various periods of history.

The Alhambra Court was in the style of the Moorish rulers of Granada in Spain.

The original was destroyed in the 1866 fire but was recreated in one of the undamaged portions of the building.
